Why Our Clients Choose Sisterhood Wellness Center

01

Expertise

We Specialize in Women’s Mental Health—Not a One-Size-Fits-All Model

Unlike large national programs that serve a broad population, Sisterhood Wellness focuses exclusively on perinatal and women’s mental health. Our care is grounded in deep clinical expertise, trauma-informed practices, and a lived understanding of what mothers and birthing people face.

We don’t just understand postpartum—we live and breathe maternal mental health.

02

Connection

Personalized, Boutique-Level Care

At Sisterhood, you’re never just a name on a waitlist. Our small-group format and limited caseloads ensure you receive individualized attention, meaningful therapeutic relationships, and ongoing support. We build relationships—not just treatment plans.

Larger IOPs often rotate clinicians or use rigid structures. We meet you where you are, with warmth and flexibility.

03

holistic

Whole-Person, Holistic Approach

We incorporate nervous system regulation, mindfulness, yoga-informed practices, and somatic tools that are essential for healing from trauma—not just symptom management. Our curriculum is rich with grounding techniques, psychoeducation, and identity repair work.

Other programs often focus solely on talk therapy. We help you heal emotionally, mentally, and physically.

04

representation

Culturally-Aware, Community-Based, and Led by Women of Color

We are a local, woman-led practice deeply rooted in community care and advocacy. We bring cultural humility, inclusive care, and real-life advocacy experience to the table—not corporate scripts.

Sisterhood Wellness isn’t just a program—it’s a movement. A safe space. A community that gets it.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked
Questions

How long will I need to be in the program?

Each individual’s journey to recovery is unique thus the duration of your treatment will be influenced by your specific symptoms, progress, and personal comfort. At the outset of the program, you will participate in a comprehensive assessment to develop a tailored treatment plan to support your goals. To achieve your desired outcomes, feel confident and satisfied in your readiness, we reccommend that you continue to follow the treatment plan which for some has lasted up to 4-6 weeks. Upon completing the program, ongoing individual therapy is advised to provide continued support and facilitate continued progress.

Can I have my child with me in treatment?

Absolutely! We invite you to bring your child (up to 12 months of age) with you. At Sisterhood Wellness Center, we strive to create a welcoming, comfortable, and supportive environment. An integral component of our approach is dyadic therapy, which focuses on the parent-child relationship to promote healthy attachment, facilitate therapeutic play, enhance emotional regulation, and strengthen coping skills.

How many people are in the program?

The Virtual IOP accommodates no more 10 participants per group, with tailored programming available for expecting mothers and birthing parents. Our current IOP group is intentionally small. This allows us to give each participant more personalized support and create a safe, close-knit space to share. While we’re continuing to grow, we find that many clients appreciate the deeper connection that comes with a smaller group.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is needed! You can reach out to us directly to begin care. Whether you’re self-referring or were recommended by a provider, we welcome you to schedule a free consultation.

We’re here to make the process simple, supportive, and accessible—no insurance barriers or referral paperwork required.

What if I have to work or go to school?

We understand that life doesn’t pause for healing. Many of our clients are balancing work, school, or parenting while participating in our Virtual IOP. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options and work with you to find a structure that supports your needs.

If you need time away from work, we can assist with FMLA paperwork to help you take protected medical leave. Our team is experienced in supporting clients through this process so you can prioritize your mental health without risking your employment or academic progress.

Does Sisterhood Wellness Center prescribe medication?

We do not prescribe medication directly, but we work closely with trusted psychiatric providers who specialize in perinatal mental health. If medication is something you’re considering, we can coordinate care and refer you to a provider who can meet with you quickly—often with shorter wait times than traditional systems.

Our goal is to ensure you get comprehensive support, whether that includes therapy, medication, or both.
